Does oil extraction from rock strata always have to come with the utterly undesirable consequences? The ones that the conventional fracking brings about? No. Biological tertiary recovery can offer an environmentally sound solution to this.
Biological Oil Production
Fracking. Hardly any other topic is as controversial as the extraction of oil and gas deposit from rocks. At the same time, little is known about the disposability of an alternative bio-fracking with which new sources can be tapped or old drill holes can be reactivated and used again, without hazardous chemicals or rock destruction.
With the use of biosurfactants for “biological” enhanced oil recovery (EOR), also called tertiary recovery, the oil will be “mobilised” so that it can subsequently be dismantled and extracted from the rock. With our know-how, we want to support those companies that are interested in oil production with biological alternatives.
